The display has come a long way from its initial use as well as the technology which was employed. The earliest development was for that of televisions where a cathode ray tube was used wherein electrons would be bombarded onto a display which would then light-up at the points where the electrons had impacted thereby creating an image. The life-time of these televisions were however a few years at most and furthermore, with wear and tear the displays would lose their effectiveness.
